Under no circumstances must the MCP1 Pre Cleaner with Carbide blades be used with Mechanical Belt Fasteners. (Unless the Mato lift-off device/system is installed)
Ensure that the correct suspension arms are selected for the pulley diameter. (Refer to Figure 2)
Isolate all involved conveyors before starting installation.
The ideal position for the MCP1 pre cleaner is 15 degrees below the horizontal centre line of the head pulley (Refer to figure 1 for cleaner layout).
Using Figure 1 and Figure 2, the position of the shaft is determined by the pulley diameter. Use the correct F, X and Y dimensions for cleaner position.
Position Brackets using G Clamp, or scribe a horizontal line on chute wall and drill two 13 mm holes for mounting. (Refer to Figure 1 for hole centre position G)
On an enclosed transfer chute, a cut out on both sides might be required to pass the cleaner shaft through for installation and inspection. (See J and K dimensions in Figure 3)

Figure 2
Position the complete cleaner shaft assembly in its appropriate position and support temporarily in the mounting blocks. Fit the shaft mounting bushes on each end of the shaft with their flange on the outside of the mounting block. Install the torsion arms loose. Rotate the cleaner to achieve initial tip contact with the belt and then lock the torsion arms ensuring that further adjustment is available in the adjusting bolts.
Check the H dimension (the smallest gap measured as shown) and, if necessary, slide the shaft mounting blocks to achieve the dimension as indicated in Figure 2.
Correct siting of the cleaner shaft is important to achieve the ideal cleaning position
Check that the blades are: -
In full contact with the conveyor belt
Horizontally aligned
Parallel to the head pulley shaft.

Figure 3
Adjust the cleaner onto the belt with the adjusting bolts, to achieve pressure on the belt of 7-8 kg per
tip. This can be checked by using a spring balance on the top of the suspension arms (Refer to Figure 4).

Figure 4
Tighten all locking bolts and run the conveyor to inspect the cleaners operation.
Recommend to check cleaner tension 3 to 4 weeks after installation.
