·Isolate all involved conveyors before starting the installation.

 

·The ideal position for the MUP2 pre cleaner is 15 degrees below the horizontal centre line of

    the head pulley, (using the cleaner shaft positioning Figure 1) to determine the coordinates to

    install the MUP2 pre cleaner.

·On an enclosed transfer chute, a cut out hole on both sides maybe required to allow the

    cleaner shaft to be passed through for the installation. (Refer Figure 3).

ŸPass the cleaners shaft across the face of the head pulley & position on  the mounting angles.

ŸEnsure that the mounting blocks are centered in the adjusting slots in the brackets and that the shaft is  

   setup parallel to the head pulley and the blades contact evenly across the full width of the belt.

ŸPlace a suitable lever through the holes in the end of the shaft, rotate and hold the shaft until the blade   

   is touching the belt.

ŸWhile held in this position, using the appropriate MATO “C” spanner apply a torque to Uni Mount

   torsion collar and lock into position, to allow the blade to remain in contact with the

   belt.                                                                                         

ŸFigure 4 shows how the spanner is to be used.  Line up the locking bolts with the divisions around the

   outside of the Uni Mount as shown. The parts should be tensioned until the locking bolts sit between  

   the One and a half and the Two divisions.

ŸRepeat the last two steps on the opposite side Uni Mount ensuring that they are both tensioned to the

   same amount.

ŸOperate the conveyor and ensure that the cleaner is working properly.
